Product Details

An absolutely stunning piece. Souvenir jackets first became popular during the postwar period when soliders stationed in Japan would have lavishly embroidered jackets custom made. The custom spread round the world, and soon troops serving in Germany could find them. This example was made for 'Bill', who was part of Head Quarters Company, United States Army Trial Defense Service. A native of Pennsylvania, Bill would have had this made when he was stationed at Mannheim Sandhofen, Germany. It dates from around 1963 at the end of his tour.

This is an authentic, pre-owned vintage item. It may show signs of wear, discoloration, shrinkage and other. For sizing, please check the garment’s measurements provided against a piece you already own to ensure this is the correct size for you.
